Needed to produce a shallow depth-of-field photo for an assignment today, so I cruised around the university looking for flowers that might make a good subject. You know what? There were almost none! Finally found some and managed to get this. Hopefully, it will satisfy the person critiquing the submissions. A friend told me there has been a hawk lounging on a cell tower on campus, but I saw nary a tail feather of it. I’ll have to look in the morning. This doesn’t look as sharp here as it does on my computer, but I was not able to comfortably get low enough to take a steady picture so the focus may be less than perfect.

As I was out and about this morning I didn’t have my camera with me, but I was thinking of my theme of “inside” (which I have decided to use all week). I did have my iPhone, and when I walked into the supermarket I noticed the cart storage area. Carts inside carts inside a storage area. Also, there were almost leading lines, albeit they don’t really lead to a focal area. So I snapped this shot before grabbing a cart and going about my business.
